With a named gift of $1 million to the Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy, Hartsook has invested over $20 million in fundraising education, including Hartsook Institutes for Fundraising; Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy at Plymouth University; and Hartsook Institutes for Fundraising at Indiana University.

Hartsook is committed to increasing philanthropy by 25 percent over the next 20 years. We are dedicating our decades of expertise and resources to improving the practice of fundraising worldwide and advocating for the elevation of the standards, preparedness and education of development professionals and volunteer leaders. Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy at Plymouth University, United Kingdom
Based in Plymouth, United Kingdom, the Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy at Plymouth University is the only institution of its kind dedicated to growing philanthropy by enhancing the quality of the donor experience and developing new research in the field of philanthropic psychology. Hartsook President and CEO Matt Beem serves on the Centre's Board of Directors. By 2021, the Centre will be established as an international, academic Hartsook School of Sustainable Philanthropy. The Centre was founded by Adrian Sargeant, Director of the Centre and Professor of Fundraising at Plymouth University, and Jen Shang, a Philanthropic Psychologist and the Centre's Director of Research. The Centre's mission is to provide philanthropists and fundraisers with the robust and reliable research information they need to build sustainable philanthropy.

image The NonProfit Times: Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy Gets New Name
Since it was established in 2014, the Hartsook Centre for Sustainable Philanthropy has conducted research, developed partnerships with professional associations and generated a range of opportunities for individuals to study the science of giving and fundraising. It has also created the Plymouth Charity Lab, an experimental facility conducting high quality research into fundraising and philanthropy, and the Rogare think tank, drawing together 60 senior figures from around the world to identify areas of fundraising, which would benefit from further research.
