Hartsook Companies, Inc. continues to be among the fastest growing fundraising consulting firms in the world. The recent addition of these eight talented and capable members of the Hartsook team brings us to 59 employees and consultants. In addition, we have 219 voluntary members of Hartsook Advocates world wide.
Ronald Loewen (Columbia, S.C.) has accepted a role as Vice Chairman for Digital Strategies. Loewen, a University of Kansas law graduate and former Vice President for Strategic Plans for the Liberty Corp. prior to its sale to Raccom, will lead an effort to assure that Hartsook Companies is on the forefront of internet communications and that its partners, Hartsook Institutes and ASR Publishing, are well positioned. Loewen has his own consulting practice, Loewen Consulting, located in Columbia, S.C. He has enjoyed a distinguished career with over 30 years of experience in the fields of journalism, media management, and corporate business development. Loewen was the architect of Liberty Digital wherein he crafted a revolutionary local television online news and information strategy. Based on household audience and revenue growth, the Liberty Digital model was recognized as local television's most successful online news and information model.
Staci Addison Nelson (Wichita, Kan.) has accepted a role as Vice President. Staci has served 17 years in the nonprofit sector, securing over $35 million in gifts during that time. In her most recent role, Development & Marketing for Quivira Council, Boy Scouts of America, Staci just completed a $6.4 million dollar capital campaign. She was named to the Wichita Business Journal's 40 Under 40 list in 1999 and was awarded Boy Scouts of America's Tenth Annual National President's Award for Marketing Excellence 2008. Staci will begin her Hartsook work with Wichita- and Kansas City-based clients, including Quivira Council, Boy Scouts of America. She is active in her community and has two grown sons.
Paul J. Russ, MFA, CFRE (Greensboro, N. C.), Associate Consultant, currently serves as the Director of Resource Development at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro (HPCG), a position he has held since 2001. In this role he has helped develop a stable funding base for the agency, maximizing its annual fund campaign and expanding its endowment resources. Paul is active on the Board of Directors for the N.C. Triad Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Greensboro's Triad Health Project. In addition, he regularly volunteers his support for the Triad SPCA and the Women's Resource Center.
Jaime Zablah (San Salvador, El Salvador), Associate Consultant, has worked for companies such as Phillip Morris and has handled brands such as S.C. Johnson, Kraft and General Foods. Currently he serves as CEO for nonprofit FUNDASALVA, a national anti-drug organization; he has been on the board of FUNDASALVA since 1998. Jaime is active in organizations such as Kiwanis, 20-30, and volunteers for a homeless girls shelter. He holds a Bachelor's in international Business and a Masters in Family Education. He is married and has four daughters.
Ian Sanchez (Charleston, SC), Associate Consultant, has experience building and growing both small businesses and nonprofit organizations. He founded and managed World Words LLC, Chiora Investments LLC and OM Biofuels. Ian has been active in the nonprofit community for over 15 years, raising funds for cancer research, education, and environmental causes. In his current role as Executive Director, Lowcountry Environmental Education Program, Ian has grown the organization over 100 percent. Ian is active on the Board of Directors for the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina, leader of the Coastal Region, as well as active on several municipal committees in Charleston. Ian continues to be active in helping various nonprofit organizations realize their goals throughout the Lowcountry.
Courtney Gomez, (Wilmington, N.C.), Associate Marketing Consultant, is a freelance public relations consultant. She has held various retail positions, and was a trainer and marketing researcher for a mortgage company. She recently graduated from Longwood University (Farmville, Va.) with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Marketing and Retailing. She will join her fellow consultants in the southeast region.
Vicki Ronald (Bentonville, Ark.), Associate Consultant, has been in development positions in the nonprofit world for 25 years. After working at Breck School in Minneapolis, she recently served as Director of Development of Hartsook Companies' client Benton County Sunshine School, where she led a successful $4.15 million campaign. Vicki currently serves as Executive Director of Literacy Council of Benton County, the mission of which is to dramatically improve adult English reading, writing and speaking skills.
Evie Craig (Kansas City, Mo.), Associate Consultant, has enjoyed a long career in fundraising. She currently serves as Executive Director of long-time Hartsook client reStart, Inc., an interfaith ministry that provides shelter and supportive services to homeless men, women, youth and families with the goal of helping persons move toward independence and self-sufficiency. Evie and her staff are currently in Phase II of a major capital campaign. The Phase II goal is $3.5 million.
