Claremont School of Theology (Claremont, Calif.) received a $10 million gift to be given over 10 years by David L. Lincoln, heir to the Lincoln Electric Company and founder of Lincoln Laser and real-estate developer, and his wife Joan. - Duane Dyer, Executive Vice President (Claremont, Calif.)

The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank's (Baton Rouge, La.) $1 million gift from the Pennington Family of Baton Rouge has helped the organization reach $6 million in gifts and pledges for its first-ever, multi-million dollar campaign. The $10.5 million campaign will fund the acquisition and renovation of a 170,000-square foot warehouse.

Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) (Fort Scott, Kan.) has successfully completed their campaign, raising nearly $10.7 million. In doing so they exceeded their $10.2 million goal by $500,000. At the same time, they successfully met their first-ever Kresge Foundation challenge and will receive $900,000 as a direct result. FSCC was the first of only four community colleges in the country to receive a challenge grant from the Kresge Foundation. Congratulations to President Clayton Tatro, Director of Development Daryl Roller and Executive of the Gordon Parks Center Jill Warford. - Terry Snapp, Executive Vice President (Kansas City)

Shawnee Mission Medical Center Foundation (Mission, Kan.) announced that last year was its second largest fundraising year. The Foundation raised a total of $5 million including a $1.5 million challenge grant from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation. Lou Gehring is the Executive Director of the Foundation. - Bob Hartsook, Chairman and CEO (Wrightsville Beach, N.C.)

Adult Center for Enrichment (Greensboro, N.C) received a gift from the Weaver Foundation to fund the development of a Comprehensive Annual Fundraising Plan to fulfill the mission of serving frail and impaired adults. Congratulations to Executive Director Chip Cromartie. - Amanda Osborne, Vice President (Greensboro, NC) and Janell Johnson, Vice President (Wilmington, NC)

Wilderness Retreat and Development Center (Lawson, Mo.) received a grant from the Goppert Family Foundation to assist with the completion of the Tree House Village. Wilderness has now embarked on a new campaign to seek more than $1.5 million for a new dining hall and other camp improvements. Kudos to campaign Chair Susanne Teel, Site Director Dennis Hisek, Assistant Site Director Eric Hoffman and the Campaign Leadership Team: Jerry Akins, Pam and Mark Bessmer, Steve Gaither, Donna and Bob Hoover, John Howard, Anne Kerber, Fritz Mutti, Pauline and Ed Porth, Lee Walz, and Lynn Woodruff. - Matthew Beem, President and COO (Kansas City)

Geneva Hills Retreat (Lancaster, Ohio) received an in-kind donation of land, bringing their campaign to $800,000 in gifts. An upcoming auction event is scheduled to secure more funding for expansion, renovations and improvements of their camp. - Karin Cox, Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer (Wilmington, N.C.)

The American Legion Children's Home (Ponca City, Okla.) concluded its premier "5-STAR Annual Fund Drive." The revamped annual fund program secured gifts from more than 400 donors, generating over $300,000. - Robert Swanson

Hope House (Kansas City, Mo.) received approval from the AHAP Missouri Housing Development Commission for AHAP tax credits. The organization's residential and outreach services provide a safety net of prevention, education and support for victims of abuse. The organization's $5 million capital campaign, "Building Hope", has received gifts and pledges totaling $4,593,874, including challenge grants from the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation and the Kresge Foundation. Recent gifts include those from J.E. Dunn Construction Company; Kansas City Southern Charitable Fund; The Sunderland Foundation; the Hall Family Foundation; The Courtney S. Turner Charitable Trust; and Bank of America. Co-Trustee Daniel C. Weary has helped in meeting this challenge. Additional help comes from Campaign Co-Chairs William Dunn, Sr., Barbara Potts and Norman Swails. Cabinet members include Barb Bloch, Amy Blunt, Carl Chinnery, Jacqueline Clark, Bob Dunn, Bob Glaser, Deanna Graves, Mike Householder, Jodi Kaplan, William Moore, The Honorable Don Reimal, Susie Shatz, Rick Viar, Sara Welch, Marion Wheeler, and Dr. Sally Winship. Also supporting the campaign are President Mary Anne Metheny, Chief Development Officer Nancy DuVall, CFO Ann Leabo, and Vice President of Clinical Services Rita Witt. - Matt Beem

The Arkansas Foodbank Network (Little Rock, Ark.) has crossed the $14.5 million mark in its "From Hunger to Hope" campaign. The campaign has successfully engaged more than 250 individuals, foundations and businesses including The Sunderland Foundation of Kansas, the Don W. Reynolds Foundation of Nevada, the Kresge Foundation of Michigan and the Brown Foundation of Texas. The new facility will allow the organization to double its capacity. - Robert Swanson

The Adult Development Center (ADC) of Benton County, Inc. (Rogers, Ark.) will finalize construction on their new facility in mid-June. ADC has raised nearly $5.7 million toward an overall campaign goal of $6.4 million to purchase land, build a new facility and grow its endowment. - Matt Beem

Salvation Army of Williamsburg (Va.) has announced a leadership gift of $500,000 from campaign Co-chairs Don and Carolyn Hunt toward their $3 million campaign to build a new Corp Community Center. - Karin Cox and Janell Johnson

National Inclusion Project (Raleigh, N.C.) has begun its annual distribution of grants totaling nearly $1 million to assist organizations in including special needs children in summer camp activities throughout the country. The Heritage Foundation (Washington, D.C.) has announced the creation of a C-4 lobbying arm for the one of America's largest think tanks. This will allow Heritage to provide their members with the ability to act on various issues in the interest of the Conservative Movement. On its effort to generate one million members, it has now hit 650,000 worldwide - the largest membership of any think tank in the world. - Bob Hartsook

The National Exchange Club Foundation (Toledo, Ohio) has announced that it has passed the $2 million mark in its $5.5 million campaign to fight child abuse. Exchange Club is the leading organization in America for child abuse prevention and $2 million is the largest amount ever raised by Exchange in a 12-month period in its nearly 100-year history. - Karin Cox, Janell Johnson, Norma Murphy and Bob Hartsook

UMKC Foundation (Kansas City) head Murray Blackwelder has announced a $1 million gift to the School of Medicine in the field of Optomology. The gift, given anonymously, was made by an alum. - Bob Hartsook

University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) recently announced a gift of $1 million from the Bernard Osher Foundation to endow the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program. Since 2007, the Osher Foundation has provided financial assistance to nontraditional students (defined as those with a five-year lapse in their education or those between the ages of 25 and 50) at UMKC facing personal and financial challenges. The Foundation is endowing UMKC's program based on the University's demonstrated success in transitioning students from difficult life situations to a promising learning environment. UMKC Chancellor Leo E. Morton graciously accepted and acknowledged the gift. - Bob Hartsook
