Vice Chairman Robert G. Swanson, spoke to the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Shreveport, La., on February 15. Senior Vice President and Chief Kansas City Officer Bridgette O'Connor presented Fundraising: Getting and Staying Ahead of the Curve at the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce's Business Brain Food series on February 17.

Bob Hartsook, both a professional fundraiser and a million-dollar-plus donor, was asked to anchor a panel of experts speaking on the topic of "Seeking Big Gifts in Tough Times." The Chronicle on Philanthropy asserted that the challenges facing fundraisers were clear: Even the wealthiest Americans are slowing their giving as they try to regain their footing in the bad economy. Drawing on his roles as Chairman and CEO Hartsook Companies, President of Hartsook Institutes for Fundraising, philanthropist and author of several books, including Closing That Gift: How to Get Million Dollar Gifts and Have Donors Thank You!, Bob brought a unique perspective to the discussion.
