Hartsook Companies National Day of Service, co-sponsored by Hartsook Institutes for Fundraising and the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, provided eligible nonprofits access to some of the nation's most successful and knowledgeable fundraising consultants on February 11-12, 2010 at Avila University. Through a tailored discussion about their most pressing fundraising challenges, nonprofit executives, development directors and board members gained advice that can lead their organization to fulfill their missions through increased funding.
"We understand the tremendous impact nonprofits have on any community. The effects of their work in the health and human services, arts and education, recreation, and safety net sectors are literally immeasurable. When we support them, we support the entire Kansas City community," says Matthew J. Beem, Hartsook's President and Chief Operating Officer. "With the recent move of our world headquarters to KC, we want to reinforce our company's commitment to the city that has been so vital to our growing into an international fundraising firm.
Nonprofits with needs ranging from donor or prospect database development, development staffing, board involvement, corporate and foundation funding, communications, or strategic plan, or any number of issues that affect funding are encouraged to take advantage of free counsel during an intense, customized two-hour session. Sessions were lead by at least two top-level Hartsook consultants.
While a single two-hour session will not create instant funding for an organization, an intense conversation about the particular challenges can be powerful. With the perspective of seasoned professionals who have led thousands of organizations to fundraising success, the next steps for increasing funding can be identified.
Bob Hartsook says, "This is a tangible demonstration of our care and commitment to the field of fundraising and philanthropy in very real way that can yield great results for Kansas City well into the future."
