Recognition: How to Raise Hundreds of Millions of Dollars

In Hartsook's 29 years of service, the firm has helped raise funding to build and renovate 20,000 facilities. More than 1,000 projects have been completed in our "hometown" of Kansas City, and we have raised over $231 billion and counting working with 6,000 nonprofits worldwide. Currently, we are providing professional fundraising in 27 states (Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina and Virginia), Washington, D.C. and in six countries (Australia, El Salvador, Honduras, India, Italy and the United Kingdom).

Hartsook President and CEO Matt Beem received a compliment about our company from a Fortune 500 CEO. He said Hartsook wasn't a typical business; it was an enterprise. Businesses, he added, ebb and flow with the economy, but an enterprise remains successful in spite of trends. Actually, he could have referred to us as a movement, as evidenced by our commitment to growing philanthropy by 25 percent over 20 years, no matter the ups and downs in the economy.
