His life and professional skills have been formed through several management-level positions and intense involvement in organized team sports through which he learned the importance of interpersonal communications, team work and strong leadership.

Today, Mark is part of a team that helps nonprofits reach and exceed their greatest fundraising goals. "We live in a country where people are very giving of their time and resources. Of course, needs are infinite, but so are the systems and strategies available to find new funding sources. I enjoy working with organizations and individuals to help them find those resources and flourish financially."

As vice president for Hartsook Companies, Mark helps clients with all facets of the integrated fundraising campaign - from major gift identification, cultivation and solicitation and annual fund development to planned giving programs.

A highly motivated and personable fundraiser, Mark knows what it takes to help nonprofits raise the money they need to fulfill their mission. Mark offers the energy and know-how to take an organization from just maintaining to gaining new ground.

Before joining Hartsook Companies, Mark served as Executive Director of Development for Avila University (Kansas City, Mo.) where he was responsible for major gift solicitation while overseeing the annual giving and advancement services operations. At his alma mater, Northwest Missouri State University, he held several development positions the final of which was Development Officer for Athletics where he secured multiple five- and six-figure gifts toward their athletic facility upgrades of nearly $2 million.

With his Masters of Business Administration and many development-focused continuing education hours behind him, Mark is working toward his doctorate in educational leadership. He is an accomplished speaker and is no stranger to volunteer work.
