Lynn Hawks knows the non-profits she serves rely on her sound judgment and quality advice. As counsel for Hartsook Companies, Inc., she has guided successful campaigns up to $10 million. Lynn served as resident counsel for McPherson Opera House and Harvey County Health Ministries, Inc. Her other Hartsook clients include the American Red Cross -- Midland Empire Chapter and Lee's Summit Educational Foundation. The firm calls upon Lynn's expertise in major gifts, annual fund, planned giving and prospect research to conduct all aspects of campaign management. Hartsook clients who have benefited from Lynn's expertise in these areas include Young Audiences, Special Olympics Oklahoma, The Guidance Center, Animal Haven, the Philbrook Museum of Art, Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Southern Platte County Athletic Association, Kansas State University EquiCenter, Missouri Southern Foundation, Fort Scott Community College, Pratt Health Foundation, Presidents College School of Law and others. Her experience in the fundraising trenches began at Wichita State University (WSU) where she played a significant role in the University's successful $100 million campaign. As a director of development, she created a $1 million faculty development fund and oversaw fundraising for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Health Professions, the College of Fine Arts, the Ablah Library and the Ulrich Museum. Prior to joining the Hartsook Companies, Inc., Lynn served as director of development for a major children's home. While administering the organization's $500,000 departmental budget, she set and achieved consistently higher goals for major gifts. Also under her watch, the organization's annual fund doubled in two years, revenues from special events increased 40% annually and publications received national recognition from the Public Relations Society of America, the International Association of Business Communicators, as well as local and regional Addy's. "I love seeing my clients succeed," says Lynn, whose commitment to them is matched only by her devotion to mentoring and to her profession. Lynn is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, having served as events coordinator and vice president of membership for her local chapter. Formerly, she served as a National Planned Giving Roundtable member, an adjunct committee member of special events for the Wichita Art Museum and a Metropolitan Ballet of Wichita board member. Lynn is also a frequent presenter of The Integrated Fundraising CampaignTM National Seminar Series. Lynn holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Wichita State University and master of arts degree from St. Mary's University in philanthropy and development. She has two children, Gracie and Spencer. |
