Fundraising can be daunting, especially for nonprofits with little prior fundraising experience. Jennifer ensures Hartsook clients' fundraising plans and campaigns proceed smoothly and productively. She acts as the clearinghouse for all client and consultant communication, providing counsel to clients from the initial phases of their fundraising and campaign programs through to successful completion.

Jennifer is involved with all aspects of fundraising, including annual fund, gift solicitation, case-statement development, grantwriting, special events, prospect research, direct mail and database management. She coordinates, troubleshoots, informs and reassures.

"The success of our clients is paramount, and that success begins with my ability to listen to and understand their needs," Jennifer says. "If barriers arise that threaten progress, I find ways to eliminate them."

The positive rapport Jennifer builds and maintains with clients provides the foundation for strong relationships, not only between consultant and client, but with the entire Hartsook Companies team. "Several consultants work closely together with each client during a campaign, and I like to ensure a seamless partnership that produces successful campaigns," she says.

Jennifer has a long history working in many capacities with Hartsook Companies, Inc. as assistant to the director of operations and client relations, vice president of consultant management and more. Clients have found her talents as a development writer/editor, foundation researcher, or events coordinator critical throughout their many fundraising appeals. She oversees the creation of case statements, writing and development of campaign tracking reports, acquisition of prospect research and qualification and distribution of proposals.

Jennifer lives in Independence, Missouri. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from Wichita State University and is completing her master’s degree in Anthropology.
